Quick answers about reading, following, replying and writing on MossAtlas. Tap a question to open it. If your question is not here, the contact page reaches the team.
Reading
Do I need an account to read?
No. Every post and profile is free to read without signing in. Accounts exist only for invited writers and for the people who run the site.
Why do some tiles show text instead of a photo?
Not every post has a cover photo. Those posts appear as text tiles with the title on a moss or stone background. Open one and the full post is there.
What are topic pages?
When writers tag a post, it is listed at /topic/name/ together with posts carrying the same tag from other writers, newest first.
Does MossAtlas work on a phone or with JavaScript turned off?
Yes to both. Pages are plain HTML and CSS designed for small screens first, and nothing you read depends on JavaScript.
Following
How do I follow a writer?
Use the Follow (RSS) button on their profile. It links to the writer’s feed at /handle/feed.xml; add that address to any feed reader and new posts will arrive there.
Can I follow the whole network?
Yes. The site feed at /feed.xml lists new posts from every writer.
Why are there no follower or like counts?
Because we do not track who reads what. The only numbers you will see are real ones from the site: how many posts a writer has published, how many categories they use and how many approved replies a post has.
Replies
What do I need to reply to a post?
A name and your message. The Write a reply form is at the end of every post. There is no account and no email field.
My reply has not appeared. Is it lost?
Probably not. Guest replies are held until a moderator approves them, then they appear in the thread. Replies that are not approved are deleted automatically after 30 days.
How do I get a reply of mine removed?
Send a message through the contact page with the topic Privacy request, the link to the post and the name you used.
Writing
How do I get a profile?
Profiles are by invitation; there is no public sign-up. Use the contact page with the topic Joining as a writer and tell us what you write about. We read every request, though we cannot invite everyone.
Who owns what I publish?
You do. Publishing gives the site permission to host, display and distribute your posts, including through RSS. You can ask us to remove a post or your whole profile at any time.
Can I link to my own website?
Yes. Your profile can show a link to your website, and links inside posts are ordinary links to wherever you point them.
Problems
How do I report a post or a reply?
Use the contact page with the topic Report a post or reply and include the link. If someone copied your work, choose Copyright and send links to your original and the copy.
Is there an email address or phone number?
No. The contact form is the only way to reach the team. Messages arrive in the site’s inbox, and if a reply is needed we answer by email.
